A unique range of hand printed, fine art cards
I had been planning a range of greetings cards for some time. It takes a while to find the just the right paper stock and then decide exactly how they are to look. Not wanting to produce cards like those already in existence, my intention was to create something different, something special with a quality which would make a statement about the sender and the message they want to convey - and be something I personally would like to receive. Greeting cards very often get thrown away after the occasion for which they were sent, so I wanted to create cards which the receiver would want to keep and which they could frame if they so wish. NEW - Due to popular demand, a new larger size is now also available. Each of these cards is produced individually and printed by me on acid-free, fine art paper weighing 220gsm with a velina finish. Made from 100% cotton, the purest form of cellulose, using naturally occuring pure Artesian well water, this Museo paper is manufactured to archival standards by Crane and Co, American paper makers with a 200-year old tradition. Museo is an uncommonly beautiful paper with a touch and feel unlike any other. Quite simply, it is gorgeous.</p><p>
The cards are slightly off-white in colour and are supplied with matching envelopes made to the same high standards, sealed in cellophane bags. Currently, the cards are available as either 112 x 151mm (small) or 140×191mm (large) in size when folded, although other sizes may be introduced or made to order. Each card has a small thumbnail image on the back together with details of where and when the image was taken and its title. The wildlife and flower ranges also include the scientific names and a brief history about the species. The inside of the card is left blank for your own message. I have received some very positive feedback from everyone who has received one of these cards or who has seen them. Cuerden Winter Morning shown below, won a prize in a national greetings card competition.The range has been developed further and now includes a series of wild flowers, birds and British wildlife as well as some additional landscape images.
How To Buy
Cards are available to purchase in the new online store or through my eBay store or by contacting me direct. I welcome enquiries from gift, craft, florist and card shops, galleries or other outlets who may be interested in stocking these cards or from companies who may wish to bulk order for corporate use as client Thank You, Christmas cards or invitations for example, which could include printing additional information on the reverse. Most of the images on this site, in the galleries and photoblog, as well as any from my library can be used for cards - if you don’t see what you want please contact me.
Outlets
A mixed selection is available to buy from the ABC Gallery at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust Martin Mere, near Ormskirk, Lancashire. Another range has been developed for Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve near Rufford, Lancashire, which features several of the species of orchids and other wild flowers found on the reserve. These cards are available to buy from the Visitor Centre on the reserve. Other outlets include The Barn at Cuerden Valley Park nature reserve near Bamber Bridge, Lancashire with more outlets planned.
Bespoke Cards
If you are interested in commissioning an exclusive range of cards, this could include bespoke information being printed on the reverse such as contact details for a hotel or guest house, a venue or nature reserve or corporate details, using a selection of existing images. Alternatively, a specific set of images may be commissioned from which a range of cards and/or prints and calendars may be produced. Landscapes, Wildlife
A number of landscape scenes are available, mostly from North West England such as Lancashire, Cumbria, West Yorkshire, Cheshire although others are available from parts of Dorset and Scotland. The Wildlife series is primarily British such as rabbits, foxes, seals, deer, otters and a variety of birds and waterfowl.
Wild Flowers, Abstracts
The wild flowers used in these cards are British and feature orchids, hawkweed, thistles, teasel, grasses, centaury, hogweeds and other varieties. The abstract range currently features various grasses and close-ups of flowers.

All images used on the cards are also available as fine art prints in various sizes, printed on art paper mounted or unmounted. Small cards are available at GBP2.50 each, GBP12.00 for a pack of 5, GBP20.00 for a pack of 10. Large cards are available at GBP3.50 each, GBP15 for a pack of 5 and GBP30.00 for a pack of 10. Prices for other quantities or different images on request. Trade prices and or bespoke printing also on request.Postage and packing for individual cards is included. Please add GBP1.75 for quantities up to 10 within the UK. Delivery would normally be 5-7 days. Please contact for postage and delivery times for higher quantities or other countries.
